Big Charity Rock Hunt

On April 21st, Easter Sunday, we are hosting a giant rock hunt and fun day for all the family.

We have hundreds of beautiful hand-painted stones which will be hidden around the amazing quarry gardens, in the spooky forgotten maze, and along a brand new area alongside the gentle river Sowe, where Otters and Kingfishers play. Rock Artists from all over the UK have been sending us their work by the boxload, and all the favourite characters are there.

There will be prizes for finding special rocks, and clues to solve too for special prizes, and there will be a little Craft Fair with local artisans, Face Painting, and a Miniature Railway to enjoy.

Why not paint some stones yourself and bring them along to hide on the day?

Please note that the Garden Centre itself will be closed all day, but the Potting Shed Cafe will be open for refreshments.

Gates Open at 11am on April 21st, but rocks will be hidden throughout the day, so no rush to all arrive at once!

This event is being held in order to raise funds for Abbies Army Charity, in association with the #islastones Facebook group. You can read Isla’s inspiring story there, or find out more from her friends and family on the day. Entrance to the Big Charity Rock Hunt will be on a donation basis, there is no set fee. All proceeds are going to fund research into DIPG, an incurable childhood cancer. Please be generous 🙂

Important Information About the Venue

Although dogs are normally very welcome, we request that only assistance dogs be brought on this special day, thank you. All under 12’s MUST be accompanied at all times, and please be aware that after wet weather it might be best to come in Wellies to enjoy all of the areas to the full. The gardens are set in an ancient rock quarry and are great fun to explore, however there some deep pools and steep drops around the garden, so please ensure your little ones are under close supervision at all times.

Here’s a link to the event on our Facebook page, it’d be really helpful if you let us know if you are coming,  thank you 🙂
